The Transcona-Springfield School Division was created on 1 April 1959 by an order of the Manitoba Minister of Education, acting on a recommendation of the MacFarlane Commission on Education and the School Divisions Boundaries Commission. It became responsible for all secondary education, grades 9 to 12, within the area of several school districts, listed below. It was dissolved on 30 June 2002 and the urban portion (west of the Red River Floodway) was merged with the River East School Division to become the River East Transcona School Division. The rural portion (east of the Red River Floodway) was merged with the Agassiz School Division.
