Historic Sites of Manitoba: Eaton’s Employee War Memorial (Portage Avenue, Winnipeg)
These monuments once stood in the Eaton’s department store, in commemoration of its employees who had been killed during military service in the First World War and Second World War. They were removed prior to demolition of the store to make way for a sports arena. Near the monuments is a statue of businessman Timothy Eaton, also from the former department store.
