MHS Centennial Business: Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson / MLT Aikins
Established in 1879, Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP was the oldest and largest law firm in Manitoba. Its founding lawyer was J. A. M. Aikins, who was later joined first by Albert Monkman, and later by William H. Culver and Charles E. Hamilton. An MHS Centennial Business Award was presented to the firm in 2004 by Ken A. Zealand.
On 1 January 2017, Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson merged with the Saskatchewan-based law firm of MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman to form the firm MLT Aikins.
