Historic Sites of Manitoba: No. 12 Service Flying Training School, Chater Relief Field / Chater Aerodrome (RM of Elton)

During the Second World War, this site in the Rural Municipality of Elton was one of two relief fields for the No. 12 Service Flying Training School near Brandon. Aircraft unable to land at the main runways came here. Three paved runways are still present along with a large wooden hangar that is now used for agricultural storage.
