Memorable Manitobans: Cornelius Calvin Neufeld (1906-1977)Educator. Born at Altona on 9 October 1906, son of Gerhard Neufeld and Elizabeth Martens, brother of George Melvin Newfield, he taught at Spencer School (1925), Silberfeld School (1928-1929), and Stonewall School (Principal, 1936-1939). He was a long-time teacher in the Winnipeg School Division, serving at Hugh John Macdonald School (1939-1945), Lord Roberts School (Vice-Principal; 1954-1956), Principal Sparling School (Principal; 1956-1959), and Victoria-Albert School (Principal; 1959-1963, 1964-1972).
