Memorable Manitobans: Charles Edward Clare Durnin (c1903-1974)

Educator.

Born at Darlingford around 1903, he taught at Budka School (1928-1929) and was Principal of Brunkild School (1930-1931), Rathwell School (1931-1932), Holmfield School (1933-1936), and Oak Bluff School (1936-1937). He moved to Winnipeg in 1944. On 6 October 1932, he married Eva Swartzman (?-?) at Winnipeg and they had two children. He was President of the Breezy Bend Country Club (1973-1973). He died at Winnipeg on 16 March 1974 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
