Memorable Manitobans: May Victoria Wright (1889-1978)Educator. Born in Quebec on 25 May 1889, daughter of Adam Wright (1838-1906) and Mary J. Wright (1845-1930), she grew up in Winnipeg and took teacher training. She was the Principal of John H. Gunn School (1910-1911) in West Kildonan after which she joined the Winnipeg School Division, teaching at Aberdeen School (1911-1920), Champlain School (1921-1924), General Wolfe School (1924-1927), and Greenway School (1927-1946).
