Educator.
Born at Warren on 17 November 1938, son of Ernest Christopher “Ernie” Riddell (1903-1990) and Florence “Floss” Nickel (1913-2002), he attended Manitoba Teachers’ College and began his teaching career in 1958.
He taught at Cartwright School (1958-1961), Milner Ridge School (1961-1962), and Stockton School (1962-1963), after which he was a teacher (1963-1974), Vice-Principal (1963-1965), and Principal (1965-1974) of Miami Elementary School, from which he stepped down as Principal due to health concerns in favour remaining a teacher at Miami Elementary School (?-?), after which he taught at Skyview Hutterite Colony (?-1994). He retired in December 1994, first to Manitou, and then Carman.
He was married twice, first to Mary with whom he had four children, and then in 1996 to Lorraine Boulet (1934-2022).
He died on 22 January 2021.
