Memorable Manitobans: Francis Henry “Frank” Reid (1881-1924)

Banker.

Born at Walkerton, Ontario on 18 July 1881, son of John R. Reid and Margaret Scott, his family moved to Manitoba in 1886. In 1922 he was appointed manager of the main office of the Bank of Toronto. He was a member of the Carleton Club, Manitoba Club, and St. Charles Country Club. He contracted pneumonia while on a hunting trip and died at Winnipeg on 21 October 1924. He was buried in St. John’s Cemetery.
