Glen John Hammond

Educator.
Born at Boissevain on 19 July 1935, elder of two sons of Richard Lawrence Kyle Hammond (1904-1992) and Laura Viola Harmon (?-1987), his childhood was spent on the family farm near Ninga. He received BA, BEd, and MEd degrees from the University of Manitoba.
He began a long career in education with principalships at Coultervale School (1955-1957), Onanole School (1958-1962), Oak River School (1962-1967), and Goulding School (1967-1971). He joined the Transcona School Division in 1971 and was the Principal of Wayoata School (1972-1974), Harold Hatcher School (?-?), and Bernie Wolfe School (1976-?). His final position was as a consultant for the Transcona School Division, retiring in 1990. He then was an instructor at Red River College until 2010.
He died unmarried at the Grace Hospital on 21 June 2023.
