Educator.
Born at Eden on 12 June 1925, son of Frederick “Fred” Chorneyko (c1899-1980) and Edna Elizabeth Davis (1904-1969), he grew up locally, attended Eden School, and became an educator at the age of 17. His career included teaching near Kelwood (c1945), Tobarmore School (1946-1947), Bannatyne School (1947-1953), Assiniboine School (1955-1956), and elsewhere within St. James and Winnipeg. In 1958, he moved to Minnedosa where he worked as a teacher and Principal (1958-1967) at Minnedosa North School and as Supervising Principal (1967-1969) of Minnedosa North School and Minnedosa South School.
In 1969, he changed careers and embarked into the field of ceramics, opening K. B. Ceramics & Flowers and went on to be a judge at ceramic shows across the prairie provinces.
On 15 August 1951, he married fellow educator Bernice Maud Hawkins (1924-?) at Holy Trinity Anglican Church. They had two children. He died at the Minnedosa Hospital on 7 July 2002 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
