Memorable Manitobans: Peter J. Caryk (1931-1991)Educator. Born at Arran, Saskatchewan on 28 August 1931, he received a BA degree from the University of Manitoba (1964) and BEd degree from Brandon College (1966). He taught school for 37 years at Eastdale School (?-?) and Harlington School (1954-1955) before moving to Brandon in 1958. He taught at Earl Oxford School (1959-1960) and served as Principal of David Livingstone School (1960-1966), Earl Oxford School (1966-1983), and Harrison Junior High School (1983-1988). He retired in 1988. In 1956, he married Lil Tymoschuk and they had three daughters and a son. He died at Brandon on 2 June 1991 and was buried in the Brandon Cemetery.
