Memorable Manitobans: Percy Raymond Stapley (1926-2014)Lawyer. Born at Winnipeg in 1926, son of William Albert Stapley and Mable Elsey, he attended Queenston School, Robert H. Smith School, Kelvin High School, United College, and the University of Manitoba. He then established a private law practice in partnership with A. S. Morrison and Thor Guttormsson, then became legal counsel at N. M. Paterson and Sons (Global Foods). He was made a Queen’s Counsel. He served on the boards of the Arthritis Society and Grace Hospital for many years. He enjoyed speed skating, curling, and golf.
