Engineer.
Born at Devon, England in 1888, he came to Winnipeg in 1912 and worked for City Hydro for 40 years. From 1935 to 1953, he was Superintendent of the Pointe du Bois Generating Station. After retiring in 1953, he returned to Winnipeg where he was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, an honorary life member of the Manitoba Curling Association (1946), and an honorary life member of the Past Presidents Curling Association. On 2 February 1916, he married Olivia Margaret Coutanche (1888-1985) at WInnipeg and they subsequently had a son, Helier Shath Square (1917-1981). He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 23 November 1959 and was buried in the St. John's Cathedral Cemetery.
