Cleric.
Born in Winnipeg on 20 November 1940, one of ten children of Milton Camille Moore (1904-1980) and Jeannette Anne “Jean” Carmichael (1902-1991), he attended St. Ignatius School and St. Paul’s High School then for a few years worked in the audit department of the City of Winnipeg. After studying at the St. Boniface Seminary and St. Augustine’s Seminary (Toronto, Ontario), he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in May 1970, at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church where his family were long-time members.
He served several parishes including St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Church (?-?), St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cathedral (?-?), St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (?-?), St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church (?-?), Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church (?-?), St. Charles Roman Catholic Church (?-?), and St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church (?-?). He also served St. Michael’s Parish and Missions (Gimli) and Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and Missions (1975-1977). He later was chancellor and financial administrator for the Archdiocese of Winnipeg. On 16 January 1984, he was invested as “Prelate of Honour” with the title of Monsignor. He also served as chaplain in the Canadian Army Reserve Force, chaplain for the Sierra Club, spiritual advisor for the Catholic Women’s League Provincial Council, and state chaplain for the Knights of Columbus. After retirement, he was sacramental minister at St. Ann’s Parish (Winnipeg) for six years.
He died at Morris on 7 August 2026 and was buried in the Priest’s Section at Assumption Cemetery.
