Educator.
Born on 12 April 1937, son of Michael Matiation (1893-1987) and Anna Matiation (1891-1956), he grew up at Oakburn, attended Oakburn School, and graduated from the Manitoba Teachers’ College (1955). His career including teaching at Oakburn School (?-?), at Portage la Prairie (?-?), at Metz in France (?-?), East Poplar Point School (?-?), and King George School (1958-1959). He was a teacher (1974-1975) and Principal (1975-1989) of Harold Edwards School at CFB Portage la Prairie. He retired in 1992 to Portage la Prairie and spent winters in Arizona. He was a member of the Portage Curling Club and a noted bagpiper. In 1970, he married schoolteacher Georgina Bernice Hill (1936-1995) but they had no children. He died at the Portage District General Hospital on 25 June 2007 and was buried in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
