Memorable Manitobans: Albert C. “Bert” Kroeker (1928-2014)Educator. Born at Winkler on 16 May 1928, the eighth child of Jacob and Annie Kroeker, he attended the Manitoba Teachers’ College then became a high school English teacher, later serving as the Principal of Altona Collegiate (1955-1960), Golden Gate Junior High School (1960-1966), and Fort Richmond Collegiate (1966-?). An active musician, he directed school musical productions and led the choir at Sturgeon Creek United Church from 1961 to 2011. He died at Winnipeg on 13 September 2014.
