Memorable Manitobans: Vivian Doris Glass (1920-2009)Educator. Born at Boissevain on 1 February 1920, daughter of Nora Smith and Percy Glass, she attended Boissevain School then attended the Central Normal School in Winnipeg, receiving a teacher’s certificate in 1940. She taught successively at Langvale School (1940-1941), Rathwell School (1941-1944), Victory School (1944-1947), and Pine Falls School (1947-1959). She returned to Winnipeg in 1959, teaching in the St. James School Division at Woodhaven School (1959-1965), Bannatyne School (1970-1973), Arthur Oliver School, and Allard School.
