Memorable Manitobans: Walter Fahrig (1889-1937)

Educator.

Born at Wattenwyl, Ontario on 8 December 1889, son of Frederick Fahrig, during the First World War he served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps then attended the University of Manitoba, graduating in 1925. He was the Principal of Griswold School (1928-1929), Arden School (1929-1936), and Tilston School (1936-1937). He died suddenly at Tilston on 24 August 1937 and was buried in the Tilston Cemetery. He was survived by a widow and four children.
