Memorable Manitobans: John Dawson Evelyn (1862-1942)Educator. Born at Wooton, Surrey, England on 29 March 1862, he came to Canada in 1903 and served as the Principal of Westbourne School (1908-1926), Dominion City School (1927-1930), and Stockton School (1930-1931). He was a member of the Masons and St. James Anglican Church. He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 1 August 1942 and was buried in the St. James Cemetery.
