Memorable Manitobans: John Henry Doughty (c1900-1958)

Educator.

He taught at Plainview School (1920) and Russell School and served as Principal at Fairfax School (1931-1936), Brookdale School (1936-1941), Griswold School (1941-1944), Snowflake School (1951-1957), Darlingford School (1957-1958), and Franklin School (1958). On 4 April 1923, he married Pearl Edna Ferguson at Carman. They had a daughter, Mrs. Vince Bates. He died at Franklin on 4 November 1958 and was buried in Neepawa Riverside Cemetery.
