Memorable Manitobans: Jean Margaret Cameron (1905-1984)

Educator.

After teaching in rural schools for several years, in 1927 she joined the teaching staff of the Winnipeg School Division and taught elementary classes at Wellington School (1928-1946) and Grosvenor School (1946-1949). She served as the Principal of Fort Rouge School (1949-1953), Argyle School (1953-1961), and Fort Rouge School (1961-1971) after which she retired. She was Chair of the Winnipeg Teachers’ Association and the Manitoba Educational Association. She died at Winnipeg on 17 September 1984.
