Frederick Todd Cadham (1880-1961)

Physician.

Born in Winnipeg on 9 February 1880, son of James Henry Cadham and Eliza Calanan, he graduated from the University of Manitoba Medical College in 1905, having been introduced to medicine as a surgeon’s assistant at the age of 12. He was on the teaching staff of the Medical College for 40 years, and directed the Manitoba Bacteriology Laboratory for 15 years. He was a member of the Scientific Club of Winnipeg from 1908 to 1961. On 22 May 1906, he married Nina Elizabeth Galloway (1883-1963), daughter of Roper Galloway of Gladstone. They had three children: Margaret Freda Cadham, Nina Beth Cadham, and Roper Galloway Cadham. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Manitoba in 1958.

He died 29 January 1961, in Winnipeg.
