Memorable Manitobans: James Henry Berry (1879-1935)

Building contractor.

Born at Durham, Ontario on 31 October 1879, son of William Henry Berry (1847-1920) and Mary Maker (1850-1930), he and his family eventually moved to Winnipeg and he worked as a general contractor. He later worked specifically as a bridge and building foreman for the Canadian Pacific Railway. He died at Winnipeg General Hospital on 10 September 1935 and was buried in the St. John"s Cathedral Cemetery.
