Formerly located at the southwest corner of Hartford Avenue and Aikins Street in West Kildonan (now part of Winnipeg), a two-storey wood frame building was built in 1914 as a municipal hall, fire hall, and police station for the Municipality of West Kildonan (later City of West Kildonan).
In 1953, the municipal offices were moved into a new building at the corner of Main Street and Belmont Avenue. By the early 1960s a new building was also needed for the Police and Fire Department, which was built on the west of the building.
The original fire bell was later moved to a new fire hall that was constructed at the corner of McGregor Street and Partidge Avenue in 1969. The building has been demolished and no vestiges of it remain today.
