Memorable Manitobans: William W. Watson (1861-?)
Banker.
Born Torquay, England, 18 August 1861, son of William and Mary Jane Watson. Educated public schools, England. Commenced career in Union Bank, Newfoundland, 1882-1895. Joined staff of Bank of Nova Scotia and appointed manager, 1900. Came to Winnipeg, 1907. Married Rebecca Osmond, St. Johns, Newfoundland, 1892; has three sons and one daughter. Club: Manitoba. Methodist. Address: 91 Edmonton Street, Winnipeg. In 1911, Watson was Manager of the Bank of Nova Scotia, Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
