Journalist.
Born at Winkler on 30 May 1961, daughter of Peter L. Suderman and Magdalena Suderman, she grew up on the family farm. She attended Greenfarm School, then public schools in Winkler before going to the University of Winnipeg. In the early 1980s, she worked in communications at Mennonite Church Canada before studying journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa. She returned to western Canada and wrote for newspapers in the North West Territories, Portage la Prairie, and Winnipeg before becoming a weekly columnist at the Winnipeg Free Press where, for many years, she wrote articles on the city's faith communities.
In 1991, she married Albert John “Bert” Siemens (1956-2022) and they had two children. She served on the University of Winnipeg Board of Regents and the board for the Canadian Mennonite magazine. She was a member of Home Street Mennonite Church. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She died at the Health Sciences Centre on 19 September 2026.
