Memorable Manitobans: Murray R. Smith (1943-2014)
Educator.
Born at Winnipeg in 1943, he began a teaching career in the St. James School Division, continuing at Niagara Falls (Ontario) then Fort Garry, where he served as a Vice-Principal and Principal. In 1989, after working as a consultant for the Frontier School Division, he joined the Faculty of Education at Brandon University where he specialized in science education. He died at Brandon on 1 February 2014.
