Memorable Manitobans: William Macdonald Pineo (1863-?)

Salesman.

Born at Pugwash, Nova Scotia on 19 February 1863, son of Edward Pineo and Henrietta Christina Macdonald, he left school at the age of 16 and, in April 1882, arrived in Manitoba. He spent a year at Brandon then went to Virden and, from 1883 to 1904 was a travelling salesman for an agricultural implements company. In 1887 he married Mary Ellen Sarvis of Port Hope, Ontario. They had two children: Clarence Pineo and Harold Pineo.
