Educator.
Born in an automobile outside of Ethelbert on 10 July 1938, son of Caroll Gustav “Carl” Overby (1900-1963) and Antonia “Antoinette” Tycholiz (1910-1999), he grew at Pine River, finished grade 12, attended Manitoba Teachers’ College, and earned a BEd (1974) degree from the University of Manitoba.
He taught at Cooks Creek School (1960-1961, Principal), St. Charles School (1961-1964), Ness Junior High School (1965-?), John Taylor Collegiate (1990-1993), and for a while taught industrial arts in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division.
In 1959, he met Leona Shirley Ann Shwaykosky and they married at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg on 15 June 1963. The couple moved to West Kildonan and had two sons.
He died on 3 December 2021.
