Memorable Manitobans: Ethelbert Eldridge Meek (1877-?)

Physician and surgeon.

Born Five Islands, Nova Scotia, 26 November 1877, son of Benjamin and Jennie Ella Meek. Educated University of Manitoba, Winnipeg. Came to Virden, Manitoba, 1885. Commenced practice of medicine in Altona, Manitoba, 1901. City medical health officer. Lieutenant, C.A.M.C., attached to 95th Saskatchewan Rifles. Married Hattie Louise Higginbotham, Virden, 1902; has one daughter. Clubs and Societies: Assiniboia; Canadian; AF & AM, IOOF. Recreations: hockey, football. Liberal; Presbyterian. Address: 2121 Scarth Street, Regina, Saskatchewan.
