Educator, broadcaster.
Born Ronald James Grieder at Neepawa on 2 February 1944, son of Anna Hollander (1915-1976) and Henry Grieder (1898-1979), he initially embarked on a career in radio before taking a short return to university to become a schoolteacher. After spending four years teaching Grade 6 at General Byng School, he returned to his true calling in broadcasting.
Over the next several decades, he worked at stations in Winnipeg before going to Golden West Broadcasting where he spent over 30 years as an on-air voice at AM950 in Altona and AM1250 in Steinbach. Throughout his distinguished radio career, he hosted popular programs including the mid-morning show and Classics Till Dawn until his retirement.
He passed away on 15 November 2016. He was survived by a wife and two sons.
