Businessman, philanthropist.
Born in Winnipeg on 21 June 1953, last of three children of June and Charles Harvey, his childhood was spent in Wildwood Park then Viscount Place. He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba before beginning a career in sales in the Truck Division of International Harvester.
In 1981, he bought his first truck dealership that grew into a series of companies under the umbrella of DLH Group relating to retail and distribution, manufacturing, and land development, including Maxim Truck & Trailer, Tereck Diesel, Summit Trailer, Manco Manufacturing, Arne's Welding, Trout River Industries, and Toowomba Land Company.
He was married twice, first to ? with whom he had two children, and second to Jan Shute. He was an active community philanthropist, assisting such organizations as FortWhyte Alive, CancerCare Manitoba, and Assiniboine Park. In recognition of his community service, he was inducted into the Order of Manitoba (2022) and Manitoba Business Hall of Fame (2022), and was named Manitoba Entrepreneur of the Year (?).
He died at Winnipeg on 16 September 2026.
