Memorable Manitobans: Neil Gaudry (1937-1999)

Accountant, MLA (1988-1990), MLA (1990-1995), MLA (1995-1999).

Born at St. Laurent, Manitoba on 19 September 1937, he worked as an accountant and office manager, and secretary-treasurer of Malcolm Construction Limited for twenty-five years. He was elected to the Manitoba Legislature in 1988, replacing Laurent Desjardins. He championed numerous francophone causes during his term in office. He sought to have Louis Riel recognized as a Father of Confederation. He died in office on 18 February 1999.
