Memorable Manitobans: Bernadette Perron Ducharme (1897-1982)

Educator.

Born in Manitoba on 26 August 1897, daughter of Helen Lessard (1851-1940) and Pierre Perron (1841-1921), she graduated from Normal School and worked at Vermette School (1930-1932; Principal 1931-1932), Grosse Isle School (1944-1945), and Baie St. Paul West School (?-?). She later married William Ducharme (c1912-1974) and lived in Churchill before retiring to Ste. Anne. She died at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne on 20 November 1982 and was buried in Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Cemetery.
