Memorable Manitobans: Joseph Edgar Bessette (1897-1998)


Born in March 1897, son of H. and Florence Bessette, his family came to Manitoba in 1897. He worked as a banker at Somerset. On 19 January 1921, he married Irene Decosse (?-?) and they had a son and daughter. Roman Catholic. In 1925, he lived at Altamont. He died at Winnipeg on 1 June 1998 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
