Civil servant.
Born at Inglis on 30 October 1919, son of Russian immigrants John Ziprick and Carrie Doro, he attended Hudson School to grade 8 then, in 1936, attended Concordia College at Edmonton, Alberta, to complete grades 9 to 12. During the Second World War, he served in the Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force.
After his military discharge, he joined the Manitoba civil service and worked as a student auditor in the Office of the Comptroller-General, graduating as an accountant in 1953. He worked as Chief Accountant at the Manitoba Power Commission (1953-1955), returning to the Audit Office, initially as Assistant to the Chief Auditor, and rising to the positions of Provincial Auditor (1972-1985) until retirement in January 1985. He served as President of the Winnipeg Chapter of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, and Chairman of the Manitoba Press Council (1987-1991). He served on the boards of the St. Boniface Hospital and United Way, and was Chairman of the Manitoba Health Services Commission.
He and wife Kay had two daughters, Janet Ziprick (wife of Bill Hoskins) and Joan Ziprick (wife of Keith Glenday). An avid curler, he was President of the Strathcona Curling Club (1961-1962).
He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 12 July 1991.
