Memorable Manitobans: Robert James Wood (1886-1954)Merchant, MP (1949-1953), MP (1953-1957). Born at Teulon, Manitoba on 27 March 1886, son of A. S. Wood and Catherine Campbell, he attended school at Teulon and Portage la Prairie, then became a merchant at Teulon. He married Jane Camyre on 10 October 1910. He served as Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Bifrost in 1917. He was elected to the House of Commons for Norquay in 1949, re-elected in 1953 for Selkirk.
