Memorable Manitobans: Harriet Lily Waugh (?-1931)Volunteer worker. Born in Winnipeg, she was educated at St. Mary’s Academy and the girls’ department of St. John’s College. She was the first president of the first women’s curling club in Manitoba. In 1915, when her husband was mayor of Winnipeg, she helped organize the Returned Soldiers Association, and she served as president of its women’s auxiliary for five years.
