Educator, historian.
Born at Froude, Saskatchewan on 26 June 1924, daughter of Don B. Cupp and Ruth Cupp, she moved to the Rainy River district of Ontario when she was 13. She attended the Central Normal School and taught in several community around Manitoba in the 1940s. On 5 August 1950, she married farmer Robert Gordon “Bob” Watson (1925-1993) of Homewood and they had two daughters and a son.
In the 1970s, she returned to education as the librarian at Midland Collegiate in Carman. She later taught grades 7 to 10. As a mature student she attended the University of Manitoba, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1977. In the 1980s, she was hired by the Rural Municipality of Dufferin to edit its history book entitled The Rural Municipality of Dufferin: 1880-1980, which received a Margaret McWilliams Award from the Manitoba Historical Society in 1983. She was a charter member of the Dufferin Historical Society and served on the Provincial Heritage Sites Grants Board and Golden Prairie Arts Council.
She died at Carman on 15 September 2007.
