Ken Storie

Educator, historian.

Raised in southwestern Manitoba, he graduated from Brandon University and spent many years teaching in Westman communities, including at Ninette School (1975-1976), Melita School (1977-1981), Strathclair School (1982-1985) and Cypress River School (1985-1988). His interest in local history grew out of canoe trips, hikes, and back-road explorations which prompted investigations into the abandoned villages, fur trade posts, and rail lines that he encountered. Ken has written reports for the Historic Places Initiative (www.historicplaces.ca) and other projects on Manitoba history at www.kenstorie.ca/heritage.html.
