Memorable Manitobans: Elizabeth Stevenson (1907-1985)

Educator.

Born on the family farm in the RM of Thompson on 9 February 1907, daughter of Henry Stevenson and Marrion Reid, she attended Normal School in 1928. She taught at Sharon School (1938-1945), Roseisle School (1946-1947), Opawaka School (1947-1948), Eldorado School (1953-1956), and Rosebank School (1956-1958). She retired from teaching in 1959 and lived for the remainder of her life at Miami. She died unmarried at Swan Lake on 9 June 1985 and was buried in the Miami Cemetery.
