Memorable Manitobans: Colon Cameron “Cole” Settle (1932-2013)Lawyer. Born at Winnipeg on 10 November 1932, son of Colon Settle and Stella Cameron, he was raised at Portage la Prairie. He received a BA degree from United College (1954) and a law degree from the University of Manitoba, then was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1959. He articled and later practiced with the firm of Bowles & Christie, until his retirement in December 2012 when it was known as Inkster Christie Hughes. He was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1975.
