Born in Russia on 22 January 1893, he settled in Winnipeg in 1910 and worked as a building contractor for over 50 years. He and wife Clara Angel (1897-1983) had four children: Morton Rosen (1918-?), Lillian Rosen (1922-?, wife of Sydney Groberman), Mindle Rosen (?-?, wife of Bill Levitt), and Eleanor Rosen (?-?, wife of Maurice Dashevsky). He was a member of the Hebrew Fraternal Lodge and Rosh Pina Synagogue. He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 16 April 1974 and was buried in the Rosh Pina Memorial Park.
