Hotelier, municipal official.
Born in Norway in 1879, he attended the military school at Oslo before immigrating to Canada where, after a short stay in the east, he married fellow Norweigian Karen Madson (1887-1961) and settled at Lac du Bonnet in 1907 and operated a hotel. During the First World War, he served as a munitions inspector with Fairbanks Morse of Toronto and, during the Second World War, he was a member of the Rations Board. He served as Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet (1920-1923) during which time he pressed for construction of a highway from Lac du Bonnet to Seddon's Corner. In later years, he moved to Whitemouth where he operated a restaurant, served as a Justice of the Peace, and chaired the Whitemouth and District Hospital Board and the Whitemouth School Board. He died at Whitemouth on 14 November 1952 and was buried in the Lac du Bonnet Community Cemetery.
