Military pilot, community activist.
Born at St. John’s, Newfoundland on 28 January 1936, son of Cluny and Stella Patrick, in 1948 he moved with his family to Winnipeg. He attended Lord Roberts School, Gordon Bell High School, and the University of Manitoba before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force and serving as a pilot for nearly 49 years.
He and wife Marion had two daughters and a son. He was President of the 402 Squadron Association and an active member of the 500 Wing RCAF Association and Royal Canadian Legion. In retirement, he was a dedicated volunteer at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada. He was Mayor of Medley, Alberta while stationed at the Cold Lake air base and spent thirteen years on the board of Winnipeg’s Network South Enterprises (now Connect Employment), serving two terms as its President.
He died at Winnipeg on 21 February 2026 and his cremains were interred at Fergus, Ontario.
