Memorable Manitobans: John MacGregor McKay (1886-?)

Merchant.

Born in Kansas, USA in 1886, son of Peter McKay and Mary MacGregor, he came to Manitoba with his family around 1898 and eventually operated his father’s store at Swan River in partnership with his brother, Percy J. McKay. On 6 August 1919, he married Ida May Andrews. He was a member of the AF & AM.
