Memorable Manitobans: John P. McDougall (1849-?)Farmer, municipal official. Born in the North West Territories in December 1849, he was married to Elise McDougall. They had eight children: George (b 1875), Alfred (b 1877), Adolphe (b 1882), Mariana (b 1883), John P. D. (b 1886), Frank (b 1888), William (b 1891), and Colin (b 1893). He served as Reeve of the Rural Municipality of St. Francois-Xavier. In this capacity he attended the 1905 founding meeting in Brandon of the Union of Manitoba Municipalities.
