Memorable Manitobans: Thomas John “Tom” Killbery (1912-2005)Inventor, businessman. Born at Brandon on 3 October 1912, son of Thomas and Nellie Killbery, he served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. On his return to Manitoba, he and his older brother William George Killbery founded Killbery Industries in January 1949 to work in agricultural manufacturing. In 1971, they sold the company to Joseph Andrew MacDonald. On 25 February 1935, he married Alice Bridges (1916-2002) at Souris and they had five children. He served as President of the St. James Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Masons and Shriners. He died at his Winnipeg home on 15 August 2005. See also:
