Memorable Manitobans: Leonard Percival Kenwrick (1883-?)

Architect.

Born at Sparkbrook, Birmingham, England on 28 September 1883, son of George Kenwrick (1852-1938) and Mary Isabella Kenwrick (1852-1917), he came to Winnipeg in the early 20th century and worked as an architect. On 6 June 1906, he married Emily Martha Dorothea Phair (1877-?, daughter of Robert Phair) at St. John's Anglican Cathedral and they had a son, George Ronald Leonard Kenwrick (1911-1937). In May 1915, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served in France and England. Demobilized in 1919, he and his family moved to Saanich, British Columbia where they were living as of 1931. His later whereabouts are presently unknown.
